With today's modern telecommunications services and instant information access, storytelling is quickly becoming a lost art. But not in Alabama. At the Eagles Message Pow Wow in the Athens Town Square, visitors can hear authentic North American Indian storytelling, as passed down through the generations. At the Bama Theatre in Tuscaloosa, the Arts Council presents the nation's only "music-telling" ensemble, musicians who spin music, story, theater and dance into a unique performance. And for good old-fashioned ghost stories, check out the Learning by the Lake series in the Talladega National Forest and the JSU campfire talks at the DeSoto State Park Campground, proving that storytelling is alive and well in Alabama.
